ISSO Excursion: Poster House First Friday

November 6, 2026
12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
America/New_York
Off-campus

Build connections across our diverse networks of ISSO students, scholars, and their family members by coming with us to explore a free community event in NYC!

Join ISSO to explore Poster House, the first U.S. museum focused on the enormous impact of posters on society and culture, and how they have been adapted to contemporary use. Poster House is a space for those interested in design, advertising, and public interventions, and aims to improve design literacy among the general public. Admission is FREE every First Friday, and the museum stays open until 9pm! Explore the museum’s latest exhibitions and get in on the fun by attending a tour, workshop, performance, or activity throughout the day. Every First Friday is different, offering unique opportunities to engage with rotating exhibitions and the permanent collection.

Sample Itinerary:

[ISSO's schedule will be finalized in late November based on the programming offered by the museum]:

  • 11:15pm: Meet at ISSO Morningside to travel together by MTA (*optional)
  • 12:00pm: Meet outside Poster House to enter, explore, and enjoy the exhibits! (*optional)

  • Leave on your own schedule!**

**All registrants will be sent a link to an ISSO WhatsApp group to help coordinate and meet up before, during, and after the event. Everyone is free to arrive and leave on their own schedule-- please feel empowered to join us later in the day for this open-house event! ISSO encourages participants to independently organize activities with fellow participants throughout the scheduled itinerary.
