Summer 2025 Program Details

ISSO Spouse/ Partner English Board Game Club will meet in-person on the first Tuesday of every month at 10am. Join us for friendly competition as we learn and teach each other different games that involve English communication!

ISSO Spouse/ Partner English Movie Club will meet on the third Tuesday of every month at 10am. Join us to watch a newly-released movie (with English subtitles), then discuss our ideas afterward.

Spouses/ partners with all levels of English ability are welcome! It is entirely FREE to attend any and all sessions, as your schedule allows.

Everyone who registers will be automatically added to a waitlist. ISSO will email approved participants from the waitlist one week before the event date with specific details on how to join.

In recognition of the essential role that accompanying spouses/ partners play in the success of their CU international family, ISSO offers this special programming to help you build both connections and communicative confidence. ISSO understands that international spouses/ partners don't have their own school/ department community, and often don't meet the same English requirements as Columbia students and scholars.

ISSO has a limited number of free tickets for each English Conversation event during Summer 2025, with priority given to spouses/ partners. International students/ scholars can register for the waitlist and will be contacted if any extra free tickets become available.

Yes. ISSO understands that many of our international families have busy and evolving schedules during the summer. We open waitlist registration 2 weeks before every session, in order to effectively allocate all available tickets.

No. Programming during the fall and spring semesters generally follows a hybrid schedule of online (Zoom) and in-person sessions, based around themed discussions and teambuilding activities. Summer programming is activity-based and may take place in different locations around the city.
