ISSO Summer in the City: Museum Mile Festival 2026

Join ISSO and new friends from Columbia’s international community for an evening exploring NYC’s iconic cultural institutions during the annual Museum Mile Festival!

This free public event takes place along Fifth Avenue between 82nd and 110th Streets on the Upper East Side, where eight museums offer free admission and special programming. After an Opening Ceremony at 5:45 PM in the Cooper Hewitt Garden, the museums open at 6:00 PM.

In addition to free museum access, participating institutions will host live performances, art-making workshops, DJs, and more throughout the evening. Participating museums include:

 

Itinerary:

  • 5:00pm                 Meet outside ISSO Morningside at Armstrong Hall to travel together (*optional)
  • 5:45pm                 Enjoy the Opening Ceremony
  • 6:00 - 9:00pm      Choose museum(s) to explore with new friends!

*ISSO will make every effort to use MTA public transportation, but some walking may be required. While strollers are welcome, please be aware that crowds at the festival may make navigation difficult.
