Are you looking for a way to connect with other CU international students, scholars, and families this summer? Do you crave green space and want to explore a new part of the city? Join ISSO as we venture to Governors Island for an informal community-style picnic!

REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT WILL OPEN ON MON. MAY 18

Due to capacity requirements, if you sign up we ask that you please attend -- we do not want open spots to go to waste. Please coordinate with your spouse/ partner to ensure that all attending family members are only registered ONE (1) time -- no double registrations, please!

Itinerary:

  • 9:30am: meet outside ISSO Morningside at Armstrong Hall to travel together (OPTIONAL)
  • 10:30am: meet at Governors Island Ferry (10 South Street) -- for participants choosing the first ferry
    • 10:45am: Ferry ride #1 from Manhattan to Governors Island (75 free tickets available)

  • Leave on your own schedule: Ferry tickets are round trip and the ferry returns to Manhattan roughly every 30 minutes. You do not need to reserve a specific return time in advance. You can check the ferry schedule here.

All participants are responsible for their own transportation to/ from the ferry station at 10 South Street.

ISSO is providing free tickets onto the Manhattan ferry on a first come, first served basis for registered participants (75 tickets for the 11:00am ferry, 75 tickets for the 11:30am ferry). Any participants joining after 11:30am ferry departs, or taking the ferry from a different location, are responsible for purchasing their own roundtrip ticket ($5 for anyone over the age of 12, or free with IDNYC).
