Alyson Hathaway

Alyson is a Senior Compliance Adviser for ISSO Morningside. In her role, she assists in processing visa documents and database management. She also works closely with the Student Advising team on other matters related to student compliance, ensuring that all Columbia international students are fulfilling the requirements needed to maintain their status in the U.S.

Before joining Columbia in 2025, Alyson was the Director of the Center for Intercultural Advancement at Wagner College. In her role, she oversaw Education Abroad, as well as all aspects of the International Student Life Cycle from Initial I-20s to STEM OPT. Prior to that, she was a middle school French Teacher. 

Alyson’s interests and hobbies include baking, walking, traveling and language-learning. While she continues to learn new languages, Alyson is also not afraid of learning in new environments, completing a semester abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France.
