Biden Extends Covid-19 Related Travel Restrictions to the U.S. and Adds South Africa

President Biden’s proclamation on January 25, 2021 added South Africa to the list of countries with COVID-19 related travel restrictions. These restrictions will remain in effect “until terminated by the President”.

Individuals are restricted entry to the United States if they were present in the countries below in the 14-day period preceding planned or attempted arrival.

  • European Schengen Area (Proclamation 3/11/2020) Includes Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.   • Ireland and United Kingdom (Proclamation of 3/14/20) Covers England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland
  • Brazil (Proclamation 5/24/20)
