The American Council on Education (ACE) sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken on behalf of 46 higher education associations to advocate for actions that will welcome and support prospective and current international students and help to "restore the United States as a destination of choice for global students and scholars."
They recommend greater coordination with DHS on visa processing and work authorization applications, and allowing greater flexibility to consular officers in interpreting the "immigrant intent" of visa applicants. Read the ACE letter here.
