Are you and your family looking for an escape from the sprawling concrete jungle of Manhattan? Join ISSO and other international CU families for an adventure to Queens! This excursion is sure to become an unforgettable memory for you, your spouse/partner, and your child(ren), so sign up quick!
Itinerary:
- 10:00am: Meet at 112 St. & Amsterdam Ave. to board the bus
- 11:00am (approximate): Arrive to Queens Botanical Garden (entry is FREE). Participants may also explore nearby Flushing Main Street together (a 15-minute walk away). ISSO will bring picnic blankets for those who choose to eat lunch together in the Arboretum area*
- 3:00pm: Reboard the bus
- 4:00pm (approximate): Arrive back to Morningside campus
ISSO will provide FREE bus transport. Car seats are not required for children-- if one is preferred, that is your responsibility to provide and set up. Strollers may be stored in the bottom of the bus for use during the event.
*Participants are responsible for all other costs, including food. If you wish to join the group picnic, please prepare your own meal or plan to purchase lunch nearby. We recommend researching Flushing Main Street restaurants in order to fully enjoy your time. All registrants will be invited to a WhatsApp group chat to help coordinate activities. Participants may leave at any time, or stay in the area after 3pm and find their own return transportation.
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN 3 WEEKS IN ADVANCE, ON MARCH 6.
**This programming is intended to promote organic community building amongst CU international families. Registration is open to any spouse/ partner or child of a current CU international student/ scholar, as well as to their sponsoring student/ scholar. If you do not fit this group, we ask you to refrain from registering at this time. ISSO will announce and open additional seats to the wider community if they become available. We thank you for your understanding.
Each participant may register 2 guests maximum (3 tickets total per person). Tickets are FREE (provided by ISSO), but if you sign up we ask that you please attend -- we do not want tickets to go to waste. Please coordinate with your spouse/ partner to ensure that all attending family members are only registered ONE (1) time -- no double registrations, please!
