Are you an international CU faculty member, researcher, postdoc, staff or trainee? Are you looking to meet peers and make new friends across different schools and departments? Join ISSO's monthly evening social event ("night out") to help build connections and community!

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON MARCH 5. Please do not sign up if you may be unable to attend. ISSO is offering limited tickets to scholars for the discounted price of $10.

Join ISSO this month to tour and learn about the incredible history of the United Palace theater in Washington Heights!

Enjoy a complimentary beverage while exploring the stunning 3,400-seat mezzanine, grand foyer, balcony, and if you're lucky, the stage! Built in 1930, the United Palace was designed by the same architect as the former Ziegfeld Theatre, with interiors overseen by the same specialist behind the Waldorf Astoria. Once a premier vaudeville and movie house, it remains the 4th largest in Manhattan and still hosts concerts, movies, and community events today.

Itinerary:

5:10pm: Meet at ISSO Morningside to travel together by MTA (*optional)

5:50pm: Meet at the United Palace theater

6:00pm: Tour begins (with complimentary drink)

7:30pm: Theater closes**

**Participants are encouraged to continue socializing and exploring the Washington Heights neighborhood together after the theater closes! All registrants will be sent an invitation to an ISSO WhatsApp group for this event to help coordinate meeting up and to organize any optional informal activities after the tour.
