Join ISSO for a summer movie event! Stay cool in the hot weather as we meet in Times Square to watch the live action adaptation of Disney's Moana.
Prompted by a summons from the ocean, Moana departs her home island of Motunui for the first time and travels past its barrier reef. Accompanied by the demigod Maui, she undertakes a voyage aimed at recovering the well-being of her community.
To assist the language learners in our community, this movie will be shown with English subtitles!
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN TWO (2) WEEKS IN ADVANCE, ON THURS. JULY 2.
Any CU international student or scholar—and their spouse/partner—may request one (1) individual ticket.
Those attending with a spouse/partner and/or children may request up to five (5) tickets total, for their family members only. Spouses/partners may also register separately.
**Please coordinate with your family so that each attendee is registered only once. The number of tickets requested in your registration must match the number of names provided, or we cannot guarantee sufficient tickets for your family.
Itinerary:
- 9:15am: Meet near ISSO Morningside to travel together by MTA (optional)
- 9:45am: Meet at AMC Empire25 and take group photo
- 10:00am: Previews start
- ~10:20am: Movie starts
- ~12:30pm (approximate): Movie ends
- After 12:30pm: Option to continue socializing in the Times Square/ Bryant Park area*
*All registrants will be sent an invitation to an ISSO WhatsApp group for this event to help coordinate and meet up before, during, and after the event. ISSO encourages participants to independently organize lunch or other activities after the scheduled itinerary has finished. For example, you may be interested in listening to piano music in Bryant Park between 12:30 and 2:30pm!
