Escape the concrete jungle with ISSO at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx -- NYC's greenest borough! Discover plants and flowers, explore pine tree trails, and use a phone app for a self-guided tour. Bring the whole family for seasonal fun!
On Wed. Sept. 23, join NYBG's special Climate Week 2026 events (advance registration required)! Learn about climate-resilient, equitable, and livable cities; explore the Garden; eat local at the Farmers Market; and meet NYBG Scientists and visiting organizations.
Itinerary:
- 9:00 am: Meet at ISSO Morningside to travel together by MTA (*optional)
- Please note: there is a 15 min. walk to the B train at Cathedral Pkwy (110 St), and another 15 min. walk from the Bedford Park Blvd stop to NYBG.
- 10:30 am (approximate): Meet at the Ticket Counter
- Grounds Admission is FREE for everyone from 10am - 11am, free beyond 11am for registrants of Climate Week events, and free all day for NYC residents with proof of residency. Ticketing info here

- 10:00 am - 3:00 pm: NYBG Farmers Market @ Solar Pavilions
- 10:45 am - 12:15 pm: Panel Discussion @ Ross Hall - Cities as Climate Catalysts: Science-Driven Solutions for People and Nature [Registration required]
- 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm: Meet & Greet @ Tulip Tree Allée with NYBG Scientists and Environmental Organizations
- 2:00 pm: Historical Ecology Walk @ Fountain of Life: Landscapes in Dialogue with NYBG's Dr. Eric W. Sanderson [Registration required]

**All registrants will be sent a link to an ISSO WhatsApp group to help coordinate and meet up before, during, and after the event. ISSO encourages participants to independently organize lunch or other activities throughout the day.
