Join ISSO for a summer movie and discussion, with a special focus on building English listening, reading and speaking skills! This event is part of ISSO's regular Spouse/ Partner English Conversation programming for summer 2025. Extra FREE tickets have now been opened to the wider community of ISSO's international students and scholars!
Participants will meet in the lobby of AMC Empire 25 Theater at 9:45AM for a 10am showing of Materialists (Rated R). The movie will have English language subtitles! After the film, we will find a public space nearby and pair off into smaller groups to discuss questions based on the ideas/ themes of the movie.
Please only register if you are willing and able to join in conversation with participants of mixed English ability, who may be the accompanying spouse or partner of a CU international student or scholar. ISSO aims to help participants build community and connection, as well as their confidence in English.
ISSO will offer limited free tickets for each showing. Participants are responsible for all other costs, including transportation to/ from the theater, and any food or beverage during the movie or discussion activity.
REGISTRANTS MUST COMPLETE A REQUIRED FORM IN ORDER TO CONFIRM ATTENDANCE. IF THIS FORM IS NOT COMPLETED, THE TICKET MAY BE FORFEITED AND OFFERED BY ISSO TO THE NEXT PERSON ON THE WAITLIST. Tickets are non-transferable.
