Collection of your personal information

The ISSO collects personally identifiable information, such as your email address, name, foreign and, if applicable, U.S. residence addresses, and telephone number(s).

Use of your personal information

The ISSO collects and uses your personal information to provide the services you have requested. The ISSO does not sell, rent or lease any personal information to any third parties.

The ISSO secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment. Your credit card information is not captured, stored or transmitted on Columbia University servers or network.

Refund Policies

Refund of application fee for Certificate of Eligibility:

The Certificate of Eligibility application fee will not be refunded to newly-admitted students who request Columbia University visa supervision but who do not enroll at Columbia University or who enroll under the visa supervision of an external organization.

Refund of the Trainee Administrative Fee:

Payment of the Trainee Administrative Fee will not be refunded unless the I-20 or DS-2019 form with the ISSO's endorsement of prospective employment is returned to the ISSO and the requested employment transaction cancelled in SEVIS.

Refund of the Visiting Scholar Fee:

The Visiting Scholar Fee is not refundable after a DS-2019 has been issued, regardless of whether or not the Visiting Scholar obtains the visa or enters the United States as anticipated.
