Saundra D Hampton
Saunda is a Senior International Student Adviser for ISSO Morningside. In her role, she assists the Morningside campus’s robust international student community in matters regarding their immigration-related needs by providing advisory and documentation services as well as information on a host of issues such as visas, enrollment, employment, and travel.
Saundra has over 30 years of experience in the field of International Education. Prior to Columbia, she worked at Pratt Institute, Hunter College’s International English Language Institute, and the Borough of Manhattan Community College. No matter where she’s worked, she has always been a passionate international student advocate and educator. She holds an M.A. in Arts and Cultural Management, a B.A. in Political Science, and an A.B.D. in Organizational Studies.
Saundra is a native New Yorker and proud of it, as she considers NYC “the capital city of the world” due to its all-encompassing multiculturalism. She also identifies as a world traveler, having visited 80 countries and all 7 continents. In her free time, she enjoys tapping into her creative side by making collage art inspired by all of her travel and cultural experiences. Her favorite restaurant near campus is Dinosaur BBQ and especially recommends the Chicken Bowl.
