ISSO is thinking of our community and families affected by the recent earthquakes in southern Turkey and Syria. ISSO team stands ready to assist during this time. Read below for President Bollinger’s comments as well as a support space on Thursday, February 9th for students from that region.
President Bollinger’s Comments
“The devastation and loss of life stemming from the earthquakes in southern Turkey and Syria are staggering and horrific. Columbia has many ties to the region, including students, faculty, and staff with deep roots in the area and a Global Center in Istanbul. On behalf of the entire University community, I send my profound condolences to all those affected by this devastating tragedy.”

Support Space
ISSO and Student Life are co-hosting a support space for students from that region on Thursday, February 9th, from 5 to 6:30 PM, in the Earl Hall Auditorium on the Morningside Campus.
Food, resources and a community space will be available to those in attendance.
