Join the Urban and Social Policy Concentration for a special screening of the environmental documentary "From the Ashes." Bloomberg Philanthropies produced this documentary, which captures Americans in communities across the country as they wrestle with the legacy of the coal industry and what its future could be under the Trump Administration. The film presents compelling and often heartbreaking stories about what is at stake for our economy, health, and climate. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion between Michael Gerrard, Faculty Chair of the Earth Institute and Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia Law School; Patricia Culligan, Robert A.W. and Christine S. Carleton Professor of Civil Engineering at Columbia Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and Co-Director of the Urban Design Lab; and Adam Freed, Sustainability Principal at Bloomberg Associates and lecturer with the Columbia Sustainability Management Program. The panel will be moderated by Professor Ester R. Fuchs, Director of the Urban and Social Policy Program at the School of International and Public Affairs. The event is co-sponsored by the Earth Institute, the Energy and Environment Concentration, and the Environmental Science and Policy program.
