The International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO) is hosting an International Scholar Panel Discussion, in which two international scholars at Columbia will share their research with the academic community. Topic: Roma Communities and Aspects of Grief: Anthropology and Literature approaches. Speakers: Maïté Snauwaert is associate professor of literature at the University of Alberta in Canada. Earning her PhD from Paris 8 University, she has lived in France, California, and Canada: in Montréal and Vancouver, before moving to Edmonton in the Prairies. Her research focuses on grief and the end of life in contemporary literature from North America and Europe. Joanna Talewicz-Kwiatkowska currently works as assistant professor at the Jagiellonian University in the Intercultural Studies Institute and as Academic Advisor for Memorial and Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau.
