Free and open to the public; no tickets needed. Ghuydar Bashmaf will perform a concert to celebrate Mawlid, the birthday of Prophet Mohamed. Being raised in Aleppo, Syria, a city known for its musical heritage in the Middle East, GHUYDAR BASHMAF began singing at an early age and participated in local events. In the U.S, he was coached by local Arabic musicians in New Jersey and focused his efforts on reviving classical spiritual songs (Nasheed) in Arabic. Ghuydar is influenced by Arabic, Circassian, and Turkish musical traditions, and he sings in these languages as well. During his college days, he founded “Travelers,” a Nasheed group that performed at many universities in New Jersey, New York, and at the national level in MSA, ICNA, and ISNA conventions. After Travelers, Ghuydar continued to perform solo at different public and private events and via Dhikr sessions. Over the last 4 years, Ghuydar had the privilege of performing solo sharing the stage with other internationally renowned artists such as Maher Zain, Dawud Wharnsby, and Native Deen. He also performed at national events for organizations such as Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Islamic Relief, Al-Madina Institute, and many Islamic centers and university MSAs.
