This ISSO sponsored two-hour workshop for J-1 scholars (not students) focuses on academic integrity and the serious issue of plagiarism. We consider cross-cultural differences concerning plagiarism, what plagiarism looks like, and its consequences -- both legal and within the academic community. We also look at strategies for presenting others’ ideas, and we explore some key principles of paraphrasing. We will follow up with a question and answer session. We will send you the access link a day before the session and on 11/18. Nancy Boblett, Instructional Staff at the Applied Linguistics & TESOL department at Teachers College, will present this session.
